Crew training for Kerala’s first rescue boat

Kochi, 3rd May 2018: Navgathi Marine Design & Constructions and SWTD jointly hosted a two days training programme for the crew members of Kerala’s First Rescue Boat which was launched last month. Navgathi team explained to the crew the various features equipped in the boat. Experts from medical and rescue domains give the necessary training for the crew to handle the rescue operations and medical emergencies. Crew members were explained how to provide the medical assistance during the emergency situations followed by emergency drills.

The 40-foot vessel is made of marine grade steel with the design speed of 12 knots and can be used for rescue operations. With a wider platform vessel enable faster rescue operations. The boat has the capacity to accommodate 16 passengers and 3 crew. The vessel is designed and built under Kerala Inland Vessel Rules. Vessel service will be available 24 hours.
