First Rescue Boat for Kerala State Water Transport Department Launched

Navgathi launched the first rescue boat for Kerala State Water Transport Department on 12th July 2017 at Kodungallur. This steel rescue cum dive boat is the first among the series of five boats Navgathi is constructing at Kodungallur yard.

The 40-foot vessel is made of marine grade steel with design speed of 12 knots and can be used for rescue operations. With a wider platform vessel enable faster rescue operations. The boat has capacity to accommodate 16 passengers and 3 crew

Boat has all basic and necessary equipment’s and medical facilities for first aid. They will serve the purpose of a water ambulance for people living on islands in Alappuzha and Ernakulam area with no road connectivity.  Vessel is designed and built under Kerala Inland Vessel Rules.
