We are honoured to announce the delivery of all 5 Rescue boats to Kerala State Water Transport Department. Boats are now being used for the rescue operations and paramedics operations in Alleppey district where many areas are flooded due to heavy rain.
Four boats of the 5 vessel series were delivered together on the 20th July. The first Rescue boat delivered in April was inaugurated by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala. Since then it has attended more than 30 emergency situations where it carried the sick and needy for critical medical attention.
The boat has all basic and necessary equipment and medical facilities for first aid. They will serve the purpose of a water ambulance for people living on islands and waterlogged areas with no road connectivity. The 40-foot vessel made of marine grade steel with a 200 hp marine grade engine and design speed of 12 knots can be used for rescue operations. Normal boats of KSWTD operates at 7 knots speed. With a wider platform vessel enable faster rescue operations. The boat has the capacity to accommodate 16 passengers and 3 crew. The vessel is designed and built under Kerala Inland Vessel Rules. Vessel service will be available 24 hours.
