Navgathi nominated as Govt. approved KIV consultant

We are happy to announce that Navgathi Marine is now an approved consultant under the provisions of KIV Rules 2010. As an approved consultant Navgathi shall provide following services at charges specified in Govt. rules.

  1. CERTIFICATE OF DRAWINGS FOR NEW VESSELS

The following drawings/calculations are required as per KIV Rules 2010 for new construction or for existing vessels being surveyed for the first time.

  1. General Arrangement Plan
  2. Lines Plan and Offset Table (For stability calculations)
  3. Structural drawings
  4. Freeboard markings
  5. Shell expansion
  6. Machinery layout
  7. Propeller drawings
  8. Shafting and stern gear
  9. Steering plans
  10. Pump and Piping arrangement.
  11. Accommodation Plan
  12. Ventilation Plan
  13. LSA and FFA Plan
  14. Lights, sound, navigational and communication equipment plan
  15. Compartment subdivision and Flooding calculation
  16. Inclining experiment, Trim and Stability Booklet (Clause 134)

FEE LUPSUM (Maximum Limit)

For preparation and certification of drawings of new boats.

  1. Rs. 18,000/- for the first vessel
  2. Rs. 5,000/- for the subsequent similar vessels of same owner.

PREPARATION OF ESTIMATE

Detailed estimate of construction with material quality specifications, quantity, cost etc. if needed, 1% of the total estimate with a minimum of Rs.5000 and maximum of Rs.15000.(Applicable for both construction and repair)

PERT/CPM chart with milestones, preparation for the construction and repair activities (if needed) – Rs.4000

STAGE SURVEY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW VESSELS

The stage survey consists of the following:

  1. Hull construction stage survey
  2. Machinery and piping survey
  3. Navigation, Communication, LSA and FFA survey
  4. Inclining experiment witnessing
  5. Testing, commissioning and Trials

FEE

Since these surveys are done at different stages, a fee of  2,000/- for the first survey and @ Rs.1500 each for the further stage surveys of the same vessel. Transportation and accommodation, if required, to be provided extra. Plus TA, DA at actual

ALTERATION OF EXISTING VESSELS

  1. Approval of modification plans (structural plans) – Rs.5000
  2. Stage inspections (Two visits) (Structural inspection) – Rs. 3000

WITNESSING OF TRIALS AND CERTIFICATION   OF EXISTING VESSELS ON PERFORMANCE

This includes any trial the consultant is asked to witness after repair, accident or any other instance on which the owner or the competent authority decides to conduct a trial of the vessel (Speed trial, Maneuvering trial etc.)

Fees: Rs.2000 Plus Travelling, Accommodation at actual

ENGINE REPLACEMENT FOR EXISTING VESSELS

  1. Approval of plans for replacement – Rs.5000
  2. Onboard inspection for testing and commissioning – Rs. 2000

Plus TA, DA at actual

ENGINE REPAIR Existing Vessels

  1. On board inspection to assess the defects and providing the details of defects,    repair    estimates etc. – Rs.3500
  2. On board inspection for testing and commissioning  of the repair – Rs.2000

STABILITY CALCULATION FOR VESSEL

Inclination Experiment

The fee will be based on the type of vessels detailed as below:

  1. Houseboats with upper deck of any size and a construction material- Rs. 20000

(Steel, Fibre, Wood, Aluminium)

  1. Houseboats with single deck with passenger capacity greater than 50 – Rs.10000
  2. House boats with single deck with actual passenger capacity less than 50 – Rs. 5000
  3. Motor boats with upper deck – Rs.15000
  4. Motor boats with single deck – Rs.10000
  5. Dredger/Barges/Junkars/RSV – Rs. 20000
  6. Ferries, Floating structures, yachts, sailing vessel – Rs.7000

Heeling Test

Fee for conducting heel test – Rs.5000

Plus TA DA at actual.

All single deck houseboats with passenger capacity less than 50 will have the option of conducting heel test. However for vessel operating at dam sites like Neyar, Thekkadi, Munnar, Banasura Segai and others, heel test will be permitted only  to vessels with maximum passenger capacity of 12 (Twelve) . 1/3rd of the fees charged will be for measurement and preparation of drawing and 2/3 rd of the fees will be for witnessing stability tests, calculation and approval of booklet.

APPROVAL OF SAFETY PLANS FOR EXISTING VESSELS

(LSA, FFA and any other safety plans) – Rs. 2500/PLAN

POLLUTION CONTROL PLANS FOR EXISTING VESSELS – Rs. 3000

On board sewage, solid wastes, waste water recycling, conversion and to make the boats zero waste discharging technology, design and plans – Rs.7000/-

PREPARATION OF ESTIMATION FOR VESSELS FOR VESSELS FOR FLOATING, MAINTENANCE, DOCKING, REPAIR, ACCIDENTS, FIRE, COLLISION, MODIFICATION ETC

1% of the estimate subject to minimum of Rs. 5000 and maximum of Rs. 15000
