We started our celebration making ‘Onapookalam’ and everyone contributed to this beautiful event. Our Managing director, Mr. Sandith gave a short speech after lighting the lamp and further we moved on to the fun part which was Onam games. We were divided in to 3 teams to compete and fun of these games was beyond imagination. First to start with was ‘Sundarikku Pottuthodal’ Dhileesh from team Chekavar won the first prize. This was followed by Dart board, and lemon spoon race. The winners were Rahul & Bhavya. After that a short break we were taken to enjoy the grand feast ‘Onam Sadya’.
After Onam Sadya we continued our games starting with straw chain game and Prajod won this. Arjun was the winner of Basketing the Ball. The main attraction of the Onamcelebration was the group song “Onapattukal’. It was a tight competition among the teams and to boost them up our audience were always ready. Sooryakanthi team won the title followed by team Unniyarcha. Overall champions of the prestigious day was team Sooryakanthi.
Moving towards closing of the wonderful day, we had the most awaited event ‘Vadam Vali’ (Tug of war). Winner of this event was the team led by Captain Lakshmi and they were prized in traditional way, with a bunch of bananas.
Going back home there was a smile on everyones face, remembering the fun we had together on this wonderful Onam celebration.
