Two more rescue boats for KSWTD launched

Navgathi launched two more rescue boat for Kerala StateWater Transport Department on 2nd September 2017 at Kodungallur. First vessel of the 5 vessel series was launched in July. The last two vessels are getting ready for launching by next month beginning. Vessel was launched after inspection by Kerala ports and Govt. Constituted Technical commitee.

The 40-foot vessel is made of marine grade steel with design speed of 12 knots and can be used for rescue operations. The wider platform is perfect for diving in backwaters around Alleppey and Ernakulam. The boat can easily accommodate 16 passengers and 3 crew

Boat has all basic and necessary equipment’s and medical facilities for first aid. These vessels will serve the purpose of a water ambulance for people living on islands in Alappuzha and Ernakulam area with no road connectivity. Vessel is designed under Kerala Inland Vessel Rules by the designers of Navgathi
