Thomas Isaac, Finance Minister in the presence of Shri AK Saseendran, Transport Minister and MLA’s of Vaikom and Aroor in an auspicious event held at Vaikom Satyagraha hall on 4th November 2018.
During his speech Finance Minister emphasized on the need to shift from road to water transport and importance of a quick water transport to match with the road that will catalyze this shift. Shri. AK Saseendran, Transport Minister of Kerala promised that more fast ferries and solar ferries will be deployed soon.
After the formal inaugural session Ministers and other dignitaries along with a few passengers took an inaugural cruise in VEGA 120 from Vaikom to Thavanakadavu.
Vega 120, Kerala’s fastest ferry also rode to Perumbalam south and Panavally jetties where the vessel received a warm welcome. People of these small towns were very much excited to be a part of vessel’s history.
All commuters including dignitaries agreed they enjoyed a smooth ride in Vega 120.
